India marks Milad-e-Kawthar, honoring Lady Fatima’s universal moral legacy

Kolkata, India — Muslims in India’s eastern state of West Bengal marked Milad-e-Kawthar, the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her), the revered daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), with a religious gathering highlighting her enduring moral, spiritual, and social legacy.

Hawzah News Agency- Addressing the ceremony, Hojatoleslam Mohsen Reza Ebadi, a cleric from West Bengal, described Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her) as an unparalleled role model in faith, piety, and ethical conduct, stressing the importance of following the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) in educating younger generations and reforming society.

A timeless model of faith and ethics

Ebadi said the life of Hazrat Fatima Zahra represents a comprehensive model of devotion, moral excellence, and self-sacrifice, offering guidance for humanity across all eras.

“Her lifestyle embodies worship, purity, sacrifice, and ethical integrity,” he said, adding that her life remains a clear and lasting guide for individuals and societies alike.

Symbol of justice and truth

Referring to her historical and social role, Ebadi noted that Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) was not only the daughter of the Prophet and an exemplary wife and mother, but also a steadfast defender of justice and truth within Islamic history.

“Her resilience at critical moments helped guide the Muslim community along the path of righteousness,” he said, emphasizing that her life provides enduring lessons in faith, patience, and resistance to oppression.

Role model for women and society at large

Highlighting her relevance for contemporary society, Ebadi described Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH) as a model for Muslim women and men alike, combining modesty, chastity, knowledge, and social responsibility.

“At a time when moral and human values face serious challenges, returning to the path of Hazrat Fatima Zahra is an undeniable necessity,” he said.

Call for unity and moral reform

Concluding his remarks, Ebadi stressed that genuine love for the Ahlul Bayt (PBUT) and practical adherence to their teachings are essential for achieving unity, peace, and progress within the Islamic Ummah.

He added that the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her) offers a valuable opportunity for self-purification, strengthening individual and social ethics, and advancing the moral reform of society.
